personhood per·son·hood
n.

The state or condition of being a person, especially having those qualities that confer distinct individuality: "finding her own personhood as a campus activist"
presented by Bakan in "The Corporation" (2004).

WHAT TO DO.

Whenever adenoids are large enough to give rise to any of the symptoms
already described, they should be removed. This is especially the case
in children under 10 years of age, for it is probable that the condition
will grow worse. The operation is a simple one and not dangerous. It
should be performed under anesthesia. Relief is immediate and the health
and strength of the child usually improves rapidly afterwards. It is
wrong to delay having the operation done, for the presence of adenoids
not only endangers the child's health, but a few months' delay may cause
considerable malformation of the jaws, palate, nose, and face.

Capitalist Production of Psychoanalysis and Their Schizophrenic Limit: Deleuze and Guattari's Anti-Oedipus. Rokas Oginskis, Wayne State UniversityWayne State University, at Detroit, Mich.; state supported; coeducational; established 1956 as a successor to Wayne Univ. (formed 1934 by a merger of five city colleges).
.Department of Political Science, Rochester, MI 48202

The paper analyses the dependence of psychoanalysis upon the logic of late capitalism. One the one hand, the psychoanalysis de-masks invisible forms of power similarly to Marxist critique. On the other hand, Deleuze and Guattari (1983) point out that the production of capital and production of desire share the same process. From them the authors posit one economy of expansion and accumulation (deterritorialization and reterritorialization). Deterritorialization is limitless (global) de-coding. Reterritorialization stands for re-coding and re-channeling characteristic to psychoanalysis. Production is realized through the category of desiring machines, which represent a mode of desiring production accumulating energy with the schizophrenic potential. The authors' claim that a schizophrenic is the key figure of late capitalism is explicated. The schizoanalytic postulates are translated into the terms of political economy to demonstrate how the schizophrenic presents itself as the realization of capitalism's tendency to produce its own excess. The paper reviews authors' polemic with the Lacanian theory and contextually frames authors' position on (post)sexuality. It critiques their alternative to the theoretical framework of late capitalism.
